The Honda Ridgeline is the Japanese auto company’s first truck in North America. The Honda Ridgeline 2006 model made its debut in March 2005. It made an immediate splash, having won 2006 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, 2006 North American Truck of the Year, and 2006 Detroit News Truck of the Year. Over the years, the Ridgeline has evolved considerably, undergoing a number of changes to its design and functionality.
In recent years, the Honda Ridgeline has been subject to a number of recalls according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Earlier in 2021, Honda recalled certain 2019-2020 Ridgelines noting that the low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank could possibly fail. In 2020, Honda recalled all Honda Genuine Accessory Tonneau Covers (part number 08Z07-T6Z-100F) that were sold for installation on 2017 to 2020 Ridgeline trucks, saying that those not properly secured could flip and buckle with wind resistance. In 2019, there were multiple recalls for Honda Ridgelines. In one recall, certain 2019 Ridgelines were recalled for an issue with the timing belt, as teeth separation from the timing belt could possibly result in an engine stall. In another recall, certain 2006 to 2014 Ridgelines were recalled for potential airbag issues. There was also a recall for specific 2017 to 2019 Ridgelines related to the fuel pump, as there were concerns that cracks with the fuel pump feed port could result in pressurized fuel leaking out.
In addition to the official recalls, Ridgeline owners have reported having issues with their vehicles. For instance, one Ridgeline owner had an issue where water was leaking into their vehicle from near the rear window pillar area, which contains an airbag. The leaking can worsen if the vehicle is in a rainstorm or goes through a car wash. For Ridgeline owners, this highlights a potential issue that they may need to navigate.Abeel & Associates is experienced with assisting Ridgeline owners with their problem vehicles.
