Infiniti QX80

The Infiniti QX80 is the luxury brand’s full-size SUV that’s been sold since 2004. The current version of the QX80—the SUV’s second-generation—was first introduced for model year 2011 and continues to be Infiniti’s version of the Nissan Armada.

Even with all the competition from other high-end large SUVs and luxury crossovers, Infiniti sells about 20,000 QX80s in the US each year. Abeel & Associates has represented dozens of QX80 owners in Lemon Law and breach of warranty cases for range of major defects.

Some SUV experts believe these issues arise from defects or malfunctions in Infiniti’s 7-speed RE7R01A transmission, particularly valve or software problems, while others pin the blame on the clutch fan that fails to properly cool the engine (probably due to the fan’s software issues) which then affects how the transmission operates. The 2018 and 2019 Infiniti QX80 SUVs have generated recalls and complaints with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
